Umbro was founded by brothers Harold and Wallace Humphreys in Manchester in 1924. From its early years, the brand focused on football kits and equipment, becoming the choice of professional clubs. By 1934, Umbro outfitted both teams in the FA Cup Final, and in 1966, the England national team won the World Cup in Umbro gear.
Umbro’s aesthetic draws on British sporting heritage and street culture. Clean lines, classic silhouettes, the Double Diamond logo, and attention to detail make the pieces recognizable and relevant both on the pitch and in everyday fashion. Nylon shorts and vintage jackets hold a special place, having become symbols of the 1990s.
Today Umbro blends tradition with innovation, working with top clubs and designers to take sports style beyond the stadium.
